Sunday Snippet – GIFT WRAPPED – Go Big
Thanks for popping by for another Sunday snippet from GIFT WRAPPED. Catch up on previous weeks’ entries from Brinn & Davis’s story here. Find more Weekend Writing Warriors’ offerings here.
In today’s little bite, we’re with Brinn at Davis’s house. They’re in his kitchen, waiting for the dinner he prepared to finish cooking…
“Want a full tour of the house while we wait for the chicken to finish up?”
“How much time do we have?” More fluttering in her belly — this time, from straight-up anticipation about getting naked in one of those rooms down the hall. Might as well go big since she wasn’t going home. She joined him by the stove, slid her palms over the hard wall of abs covered by a snug black t-shirt, then around his waist to his very squeezable butt.
Hint taken. He copied her move—the last part, anyway—and pulled her tight against his body. Either he had a flashlight in his front pocket or he was equally eager to move things down the hall.

After catching her boyfriend cheating two weeks before Christmas, Brinn is seriously lacking in holiday spirit. So when she looks into the eyes of a last-minute shopper after closing on Christmas Eve, she’s sarcastic rather than sympathetic. But Brinn is ever the good girl and her conscience wins out. She offers the handsome stranger ten minutes to select a gift and ends up with a present of her own—a date. On Christmas Eve.
Davis hates Christmas. Especially this year, since a neighborhood heist liberated him of his hard-earned belongings and the few gifts he’d purchased. But the robbery led him to a cute store manager with a sense of humor, smokin’ body and no plans for the evening. Mistletoe might be in order after all.
Their Christmas Eve date is like gift-wrapped, sexy satisfaction. But the best gifts keep on giving, and one naughty night may not be enough—for either of them.

Sunday Snippet – GIFT WRAPPED – Not Everything’s Soft
Happy holidays, all! This Sunday snippet is from GIFT WRAPPED, my newest release. Brinn is a recently jilted mall-store manager, on a spontaneous dinner date with the last-minute shopper she allowed into her store after closing on Christmas Eve. They’re in Davis’s kitchen, where dinner prep has been interrupted by their close contact…
Catch up on previous snippets from the story here. Check out the other Weekend Writing Warriors’ offerings here.
“Never stop doing that,” he said as her fingers smoothed along his eyebrows, then moved higher to the top of his head, featherlight and so damn good he had to give in and close his eyes.
“Okay.” Minty breath tickled his nose. She caressed every inch of his head, leaning into him until her tits mashed against his chest. “I didn’t expect it to be this soft.”
“Not what a guy wants to hear when a beautiful woman has her hands on him.” The vibrations from her giggle shot straight to his groin. “Believe me, babe, not everything’s soft.”

Sunday Snippet – GIFT WRAPPED – Stamina
It’s Sunday snippet time, part of the Weekend Writing Warriors meme. I’m posting from my new Christmas romance, GIFT WRAPPED. If you haven’t been following along, you can catch up here.
Brinn is a recently jilted retail store manager who allowed a handsome shopper into her store at closing time on Christmas Eve to buy “one more gift, it’s kind of an emergency”. After some spark-filled banter, they’ve wrapped up the transaction, and Davis has left the store, but he stopped before he got six feet into the empty mall corridor…
“Did you forget something?” she asked, doing her best to sound like a store manager, not president of the local lonely-hearts club.
“I know it’s Christmas Eve, but do you want to do something tonight?”
“What about Alicia, don’t you have plans with her?”
“Yeah, but that’ll only take five minutes.”
“Ouch—is improving your stamina on your list of New Year’s resolutions?”
His gut-deep laugh echoed through the empty mall corridor. Then, alpha as hell, he stalked back to the door. “I don’t do resolutions, but if I did, improving my stamina wouldn’t need to be one of them.”

Sunday Snippet – GIFT WRAPPED – Curvy
Time for another Sunday snippet from GIFT WRAPPED, my holiday romance, part of the Weekend Writing Warriors meme. This little bite follows immediately after last week’s excerpt. Store manager Brinn has let a handsome shopper into her store after closing on Christmas Eve, to find “one more gift…it’s kind of an emergency”.
“So, give me the specs on this not-a-wife, not-a-girlfriend, who doesn’t wear perfume.”
His hands disappeared into the front pockets of his jeans, taking her mind along with them. “I’d say Alicia’s about your height and build, but younger, and less…curvy.”
“And on that note, guess I’ll start my New Year’s diet a week early and pray that Santa brings me some anti-aging cream.” When he dared to chuckle, Brinn pulled a pair of black, size-small pants and a soft, white hoodie from the rack and stabbed them at him. “How about this set—it looks fantastic on trim, younger women.”
“Do you like it?” he asked, not even bothering to look at the stuff, just keeping his gaze on her.
“I do—I have the same ones at home…slightly stretched out from my curviness.”

Sunday Snippet – GIFT WRAPPED – Santa Has All the Luck
Welcome, Weekend Writing Warriors. Are you ready for some more holiday fun from GIFT WRAPPED? This week’s snippet picks up shortly after last week’s, when retail manager Brinn allowed a customer into her store after closing on Christmas Eve to find “one more gift…it’s kind of an emergency”. Now she’s alone in the store with her handsome last-minute shopper, and sparks are flying…
“Better start shopping, you’re running down the clock.” For show, she tapped her watch. “Santa’s on his way—I need to get home to my bed so he’ll sneak in and fill my stocking.”
Her private shopper laughed and winked. “Santa has all the luck.”
Oh dear god, was everything out of her mouth going to sound dirty? And holy, could he get any sexier than right now, smiling at her like a tomcat that’d caught a mouse? She’d have to make a stop at the superstore before it closed and buy a pack of triple-As for her battery-operated boyfriend.

Sunday Snippet – Gift Wrapped – The Offer
Welcome back, Weekend Writing Warriors. 🙂 This week’s eight-sentence snippet is from my shiny new holiday release, GIFT WRAPPED.
This snippet is from the beginning of the story. Brinn is a retail manager who has decided (partly out of guilt, and partly because he’s hot) to let a handsome stranger into her store after closing on Christmas Eve to purchase one last gift…
“C’mon back and I’ll try and help you find something for your wife.”
“I’m not married.”
“Okay, for your girlfriend.”
His jaw ticked and the corners of his mouth lifted in a sexy half grin. “Not shopping for one of those, either.”
Awareness zinged her, heating her cheeks and making her nipples tingle before settling between her legs. “Sister, aunt, granny, roommate, long-lost childhood friend you recently reconnected with on Facebook…whoever she is, I’m giving you ten minutes to find her a gift from my seriously depleted stock. Take it or leave it.”

Sunday Snippet – CROSSING THE LINE – Credit or Debit
Thanks for stopping by to read the Sunday snippet. 🙂 This week’s offering follows hot on the heels of last week’s excerpt, where Derrick asked his lifelong best friend, Jeremy, to join in for a threesome, as a birthday present for his wife. Quite the question. Quite the present!
Here’s what Jeremy had to say…
“Say you do this threesome thing. You really think that when the moment comes, pardon the pun, you’ll be okay letting somebody else touch Hanna? Watching your wife get wild with another guy? Because once it’s done, it’s done, no going back. It could fuck up your relationship permanently.”
“It won’t. Not if you’re the third.”
“I’m not sure if that’s a credit to my loyalty or an insult to my masculinity.”
I love this story and these damaged characters, and I hope you will too. CROSSING THE LINE is on sale for 99¢ until October 15th, so grab a copy asap!

Lifelong best friends Derrick and Jeremy met Hanna at a bar ten years ago. Both wanted her—one married her. Now the other man has been invited to join in for one hot weekend.
Everything would’ve been fine if they’d had their fun that weekend, then gone back to normal. But they didn’t. And when past demons resurface, things will never be the same—for any of them.
Thanks for stopping by! Check in on Wednesday to see the cover reveal for my upcoming holiday release, GIFT WRAPPED!

Sunday Snippet – ICING ON THE CAKE – Take A Walk
Welcome to the Sunday Snippet, an eight-sentence excerpt brought to you as part of the Weekend Writing Warriors meme.
We’re with Curtis & Sara from ICING ON THE CAKE, Book 2 of the Close to Home series. They’re in Sara’s car, after she fled their siblings’ wedding rehearsal party. Catch up with past snippets here.
He took his eyes off the road to give her the raised-eyebrows look—apparently a Lawler-family trait. “Jealous that your sister beat you to the walk down the aisle?”
“Hell no. I’d rather do the walk of shame.”
His deep, husky laugh filled the car and he smiled. A sexy-as-fucking-sin smile that brought her nipples to a full salute. “Sounds like the better walk to me. Maybe you want to take one tomorrow?”

Nia and Conn’s wedding will be fairytale perfect…if their siblings can get along.
Free-spirited, anti-establishment Sara has always been on the outside of her family’s fairytale mold. Now she’s being forced smack into the middle of it at her sister Nia’s wedding. Alongside the cocky and annoyingly sexy best man—Conn’s cop brother.
Curtis doesn’t buy in to organized romance and fairytales. But for his brother, he’ll throw on a tux and fake it for a few hours. His flak vest would have been a better choice around the maid of honor. He should have brought his handcuffs too, because somebody needs to restrain the dark-haired spitfire—and he’s just the man for the job.
One night to indulge the spark between them, then goodbye—that was the agreement. Curtis isn’t looking for a relationship and he sure doesn’t want a troublemaker for a girlfriend. The last thing Sara needs in her daily life is a cop looking over her shoulder, no matter how hot he is.
But giving in to their chemistry is much more fun than giving it up… -
Sunday Snippet – ICING ON THE CAKE – Warning
Happy Sunday! Time for another snippet from ICING ON THE CAKE, coming to you as part of the Weekend Writing Warriors meme.
This bite follows not too long after last week’s offering. (Catch up here if you haven’t been following Curtis & Sara’s story.) Still at the wedding rehearsal party held at her parents’ home, Sara decides to follow Curtis when he and a handful of their family members wander out of sight. Curtis’ older sister, Lindsay, join Sara, suggesting the group may have gone around back to admire Curtis’ vintage ’67 Mustang.
“I keep telling Curtis if he gave a woman half the attention he invests in his car, he might find himself with an actual girlfriend instead of a little black book full of crossed-out names.”
“Maybe that’s why he focuses on the Mustang.”
“Sad but true. Unlike Conn, my other brother does not want to be caught.”
“If you’re trying to warn me off, Lindsay—no need.”
“Really?” Lindsay gave Sara the raised-eyebrow treatment. “Because a person would have to be not only blind, but utterly sensory deprived to miss the ‘I’m not sure if I want to dropkick you or fuck you’ looks you two have been shooting each other.”

Sunday Snippet – ICING ON THE CAKE – Are You Coming
Welcome back for another bite from ICING ON THE CAKE. The Sunday snippet comes to you as part of the Weekend Writing Warriors meme.
Today’s excerpt follows directly after last week’s. Curtis and Sara have arrived at her parents’ place for Conn & Nia’s wedding rehearsal party, and they’re still, um, interacting in the driveway. 😉
Tires crunching over gravel and the accompanying toot of a horn interrupted whatever saucy thing would likely have flown from Sara’s lush, red lips. Instead, she pushed past him, brushing her tits against his arm and copping a feel of his groin in the process.
She paused and looked back when he didn’t trail after her. “Are you coming?”
Curtis snagged the bottle of Scotch from his trunk, closed it and caught up with her in two strides. One hand positioned on the small of her back, he leaned in close to her ear. “When we’re naked later, babe, you won’t have to ask — you won’t even be able to ask, because you’ll be moaning my name at the time.” He smacked her ass hard enough to make her jump, then abandoned her to join his brother on the Chambers’ deck.
