Sunday Snippet – GIFT WRAPPED – Timing and Execution
Welcome, it’s Sunday snippet time, part of the Weekend Writing Warriors meme. We’re still with Davis and Brinn on their spontaneous date, following their initial meeting after hours at the mall where Brinn works. They’ve just finished the delicious meal Davis (a professional chef) cooked, after which Brinn admits to a chronic lack of luck in the food-preparation department.
“Ah,” he winked, “you burn stuff.”
“I don’t burn anything, I just haven’t met the oven of my dreams yet.”
Dimples, he had them. Not a feature she usually cared for on a man—too boyish. On Davis, they didn’t look the least bit juvenile—in fact, they were panty-melting hot.
He leaned forward and curled his hand over her leg, very high on her thigh. “Cooking is like sex. You don’t have to have the best equipment to get great results—it’s all about timing and execution.”

After catching her boyfriend cheating two weeks before Christmas, Brinn is seriously lacking in holiday spirit. So when she looks into the eyes of a last-minute shopper after closing on Christmas Eve, she’s sarcastic rather than sympathetic. But Brinn is ever the good girl and her conscience wins out. She offers the handsome stranger ten minutes to select a gift and ends up with a present of her own—a date. On Christmas Eve.
Davis hates Christmas. Especially this year, since a neighborhood heist liberated him of his hard-earned belongings and the few gifts he’d purchased. But the robbery led him to a cute store manager with a sense of humor, smokin’ body and no plans for the evening. Mistletoe might be in order after all.
Their Christmas Eve date is like gift-wrapped, sexy satisfaction. But the best gifts keep on giving, and one naughty night may not be enough—for either of them.

Sunday Snippet – GIFT WRAPPED – Santa Has All the Luck
Welcome, Weekend Writing Warriors. Are you ready for some more holiday fun from GIFT WRAPPED? This week’s snippet picks up shortly after last week’s, when retail manager Brinn allowed a customer into her store after closing on Christmas Eve to find “one more gift…it’s kind of an emergency”. Now she’s alone in the store with her handsome last-minute shopper, and sparks are flying…
“Better start shopping, you’re running down the clock.” For show, she tapped her watch. “Santa’s on his way—I need to get home to my bed so he’ll sneak in and fill my stocking.”
Her private shopper laughed and winked. “Santa has all the luck.”
Oh dear god, was everything out of her mouth going to sound dirty? And holy, could he get any sexier than right now, smiling at her like a tomcat that’d caught a mouse? She’d have to make a stop at the superstore before it closed and buy a pack of triple-As for her battery-operated boyfriend.

Sunday Snippet – CUP OF SUGAR – Somebody Has Been Spying
Welcome to another Sunday Snippet, part of the Weekend Writing Warriors meme.
This week’s snippet is from CUP OF SUGAR, my new hot contemporary. This bit follows shortly after last week’s. (There’s a pretty funny scene in between, but it’s too long for the Sunday Snippet. Click here to read more.) In today’s bite-size excerpt, Nia has accepted her neighbor’s offer of a lift after her car died, and she’s about to get into Conn’s truck for a six-hour drive to her parents’ house. Maybe. 😉
Nia’s hands shook as she locked the house. But the shaking had nothing on the wild thumping in her chest when she stepped out her back door and came face to face with her hunky neighbor. The guy she’d purposely been avoiding since she took possession of her house back in April. The man who’d been one half of a committed couple when she put the offer on this place, but who was most definitely single by the time she moved in. There were more stray women around his house than there were stray cats. Of course, his massive dog kept the felines at bay. Whereas Conn’s massive everything attracted the women.
And yes, she did mean everything — he really ought to install blinds in his bathroom.

Nia has one rule—don’t date neighbors. Simple, except the guy next door is single, handsome, and not inclined to close his blinds while naked. When her car dies, Conn takes “being neighborly” to a new level by offering a ride to her long-distance destination. Nia has resisted his looks and charm for months. Surely she can handle a few hours in his truck…
For months, Conn has blatantly put himself on display, hoping his pretty blonde neighbor would tire of secretly watching and come knock on his door for a cup of sugar—or more. No such luck—until an unusual opportunity arises. After a six-hour drive turns into a sweet-and-sexy weekend, Conn wants more than neighborly status with Nia. To get it, he must convince her to break the rule protecting her heart—by putting his on the line.

Sunday Snippet – CUP OF SUGAR – Eight Months
Welcome! It’s time for the Sunday Snippet, part of the Weekend Writing Warriors meme.
Today’s eight sentences are the beginning of my upcoming release, CUP OF SUGAR, a hot contemporary romance I’ve been told is sexy-sweet and my funniest book yet. I hope you’ll enjoy Conn & Nia’s romance as much as I did while writing it. ♥
Well, look at that—Nia’s little Chevy, its lights on, but not running. Perfect timing.
Conn pulled into his half of the joined driveway and parked beside her car. For the eight months since she’d moved in next door, the twenty-four feet of asphalt separating their houses had been almost impassable. Whenever he got close to crossing the distance, something or somebody got in the way. Overtime on the jobsite or a time-consuming sideline project he couldn’t afford to pass up, phone calls from his family that he had to answer. His pissed-off ex dropping by to unleash her rage. Yeah, that last one had particularly sucked.
