So, to refresh, Derrick and Hanna are having dinner in a small, intimate restaurant with Derrick’s best friend, Jeremy, who is joining the married couple for a very hot weekend. This scene is from Jeremy’s point of view.
Might as well share his thoughts, theyâd be sharing a lot more than words later.âI was thinking about our pact from way backâthat weâd never let a woman come between us. We broke that deal today, D, literally.â

In this snippet, we’re with Jeremy and his friends Derrick and Hanna. They’re in an intimate restaurant at the exclusive, adults-only resort where they’re celebrating Hanna’s birthday — in a very sexy way. Derrick took his wife shopping earlier in the day, and Hanna is showing Jeremy the gifts Derrick chose for her.
âAnd when we got down to the beach, Derrick gave me this ring,â a soft sigh slipped from her lips, âI told him not to spend more money on meâthis weekend is expensive enoughâbut itâs soâŚperfect.ââDerrick has good taste.â
Jeremy’s buddy nodded. In thanks, sure, but more likely in acknowledgement. Heâd know Jeremyâs comment had nothing to do with his choice of gifts and everything to do with the woman heâd chosen. That theyâd both chosen. Damn coin toss.

In a heartbeat, Derrick scooped her into his arms, took a couple of running steps, drew up his knees and cannonballed them both into the deep end.Water rushed into her ears, creating that distinctive sound that comes from plummeting beneath the surface, no holds barred.
